#10 IS IT REALLY 'CURTAINS' FOR ISRAEL?

Continuing our series: 'Seventh Day Adventist Teachings' and following the article: 'A secret Rapture?'...

Do you think that God’s plans fall over?...that His predictions don’t come true?... that He can’t be trusted to keep His promises?...that maybe God is a liar?
Surely not!
Okay then….here is another Adventist Fundamental Belief:  Clause 12. The Church: "In continuity with the people of God in Old Testament times, we are called out from the world..."   That may sound right...but the Adventist General Conference leadership says: "While the cross signified the end of Israel's mission, Christ's resurrection inaugurated the Christian church and its mission…. When the Jews lost their mission they became just another nation and ceased to be God's church.”
So its curtains for Israel, hey?
Here’s what Ellen White concluded about Israel’s ‘70 weeks’:  “Thus far every specification of the prophecies is strikingly fulfilled, and the beginning of the seventy weeks is fixed beyond question at 457 BC, and their expiration in AD 34.”

Hey, that doesn’t add up! All over in AD 34? Seventy 'weeks' were meant to turn around the Jews and their holy city, Jerusalem. Daniel 9:24
Have their transgressions ended?.....certainly not!
What about ‘an end of sins’?.....not on their part!
Any ‘reconciliation for iniquity’?.....not while they reject Jesus Christ!
or ‘everlasting righteousness?......in Jerusalem?? You’ve got to be kidding!
‘seal up the vision’?……..well Daniel’s vision has now been fulfilled in history….but
‘seal up the prophecy’?….obviously this has not been fulfilled yet
and 'anoint the most Holy'?……..the Messiah is still rejected by the Jewish nation.

Hang on…weren’t the promises God made to Abraham unconditional?

“…the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt (poss. Wadi El Arish) unto the great river, the river Euphrates.” Genesis 15:18 and detailed in Numbers 34:1-13.

Not only did God confirm the promise to son Isaac, He said to grandson Jacob: “…for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.”          Genesis 28:15
Solomon once had dominion over all this land but Israel has NEVER had absolute sovereignty.                 1 Kings 4

Ah! So perhaps there’s one more 'week' of 7 years to go, after all?  …and there it is in Daniel 9:27!

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week…”
So when Adventists claim that God has finished with Israel – isn’t that ignoring God’s plans haven’t been fulfilled yet?
Yes, and while they’ve been busy publishing Ellen White’s teachings why has Ezekiel 36 been fulfilled by the unbelieving Jews returning to the Promised Land, culminating in the declaration of the new State of Israel on 14th May, 1948?

But if God’s hasn’t given up on Israel as His chosen people they should have abundant oil and gas deposits like their Arab neighbours.

That’s what a former Israeli prime minister, Golda Meir, thought too! Wouldn’t she have enjoyed seeing the gas being turned on last year from Israel’s huge gas and oil deposits recently discovered under the Mediterranean. Of course old Moses predicted this just before he died. Deuteronomy 33

God isn’t finished yet, hey?  He’s still in the business of keeping His promises!

Yes, you can’t undo history – it’s the final arbiter on who’s a real prophet.

NEXT: Who will get to win the world? Christ or Satan?

  1. I am shocked. How can intelligent Christians put up with this stuff? First the deity of Christ is attacked, then God's Word is meddled with (day/year theory), then the attack is on Christ's atonement, and eternal life, and hell, and the Lord's Day, and the imminent rapture, and now the inference is God is a liar whose promises can't be trusted. Meanwhile the fulfilment of prophecy in modern history is just ignored,
So what was the point of the Reformation?

    1. Yeah it shocks me just how endemic anti-semitism is in the Church. There is just so much confusion from flawed teaching that leaves people confused over the profound difference between the earthly nation of Israel and the heavenly Church.
